Bigpoint wins prestigious LARA Game Award: Online Game award goes to Bigpoint browser game Farmerama
Bigpoint, the European leader in online games, won an award for Farmerama at this year's German Game Awards (LARA). The farming simulation game beat out such renowned competition as Alamandi (Intenium) and Europe 1400 (Gameforge).
The LARA Awards were the brainchild of the popular German industry magazine "Gamesmarkt".
They're judged by a jury and are considered one of the highest honors in the German game industry.
The Online Award was conferred for the first time this year at the ceremony in Cologne, Germany, where it was held for the fourth time.

Bigpoint wins two GP Bullhound Media Momentum Awards
The Hamburg-based company Bigpoint GmbH, Europe's leading provider of browser-based online and browser games won both the Fastest Growing Larger Company and Uniqueness of Offering awards at the GP Bullhound Media Momentum Awards 2010 in London. In addition to its two awards, Bigpoint also joined the Top 50 League Table a select group that consists of the 50 fastest growing digital entertainment companies in Europe.
The Media Momentum Awards are a popular and well known event taking place in London, UK, attracting the ‘who is who' of Europe's digital media world. The awards are in their sixth year organized by specialist media and technology investment bank, GP Bullhound.

Poisonville wins MTV Skyscraper Award for excellent achievement in game development
With the 3-D action game Poisonville, the Hamburg-based game developer and publisher is leading the way in setting new standards for the browser games industry. The company’s accomplishments in game development were honored with the MTV Skyscraper Award. It’s the first time ever in the history of MTV Game Awards that a browser game has won an award.
The best games and hottest newcomers in the games industry compete against each other at the MTV Game Awards, which are held on a yearly basis. To decide to whom the awards should go, MTV created an independent jury of individuals from all walks of life, including game producers, media experts and gamers. Their responsibility was to suggest games for each category and select the nominees.

Bigpoint's DarkOrbit wins the coveted HME Award 2009 for best browser game
With "DarkOrbit", the Hamburg-based online games developer and publisher Bigpoint has won the Dutch Home Multimedia Entertainment Award for the best browser game 2009.
The winner of the coveted prize is chosen by roughly 6,000 readers of the country's leading computer magazines and websites such as Computer Idee, PCM, PC Consument, HET, Power Unlimited, [N]Gamer or Telegraaf Digitaal. The choice of the readers fell on the real-time multiplayer shooter DarkOrbit, largely due to the top-notch 3D graphics and exciting gameplay.

Bigpoint wins 3rd place for the Fast 50 – Germany’s fastest-growing technology company
With a growth rate of over 4,000%, the Hamburg-based company placed third for the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 in 2009 as the fastest-growing technology company in all of Germany. The award placements are based on the accumulated percentage-based growth rate of revenues over the past five years (2004-2008, inclusive).
Every year Deloitte awards the Technology Fast 50 to the fastest-growing technology companies who demonstrate entrepreneurial excellence and extraordinary achievements. The competition started in 1995 in the USA, and since then has developed into an international initiative. The Technology Fast 50 took place for the seventh time this year in Germany.

Bigpoint wins the red dot award: communication design 2009 for Deepolis in the category Digital Games
As the world’s largest and most renowned design competition, the red dot design award rewards high-quality achievements which stand out from the crowd based on their amazing designs.
This year, the prestigious international jury of 18 designers and design experts selected the winner from over 6,112 submitted entries from 42 nations. The deep-sea adventure game Deepolis won the coveted quality award in the category Digital Games.
