Lead Game Designer – Hamburg – 3428

We are looking for a Lead Game Designer with experience in building and shipping games. You will define and own the Game Vision and design for a new Casual Farming Game. Along with a small core team, you will create an experience that will delight Casual Mobile Players for years to come.

Your responsibilities:

  • You will be half of a team of 2 designers working on a brand new IP for mobile (F2P Casual Farming)
  • The design vision for the game is defined by you and the Producer to build and own
  • Working with the Producer and other Leads you will create and maintain the roadmap, ensuring successful deliveries throughout all phases of development, from Concept to Commercial Launch
  • This role is focused on Hands On Design

Your skills:

  • You have a strong understanding of touch-driven mobile game design, its concepts, challenges and best practices
  • You have worked a full development cycle of at least one shipped mobile game for iOS / Android touch-driven devices in the capacity as Senior Designer
  • Ability to define, set up and interpret state machines. Comfortable with the concept of inheritance and loops in scripting languages
  • You have proven experience in shipping games in a Senior Game Designer or Game Designer Capacity (other Platforms)
  • Experience of F2P monetization is important
  • Experience and understanding of Casual Games
  • You are able to scope, prioritize and break down requirements into actionable tasks
  • You have a very strong understanding of Economies, Systems, Resource flows and how to tune them
  • You have experience in working hands on with Programmers and Artists on Prototyping and vertical slices
  • You are able to assess risks, form and evaluate design planning whilst keeping the bigger picture in mind
  • You are a team player and enjoy working in a close-knit lean team (dev, art, design, production – total team size 8 – 12 max)
  • You have already shipped a title with one of the above (or similar) technologies and have intimate understanding of the tech from a design perspective
  • Programming or Art skills that aid in the Prototyping process are a plus
  • Ability to use excel or or any other tool to visualize and exemplify System Design
  • You are fluent in technical and business English
  • You have experience with technologies such as Unity
  • Experience of Farming Games
  • F2P game analytics and economy modelling
  • Casual gameplay User Experience knowledge/experience
